REFLECTIONS OF THREE CIRCUMNAVIGATIONS

Jimmy Cornell will be giving an illustrated talk on Tuesday 15 April  covering his own personal experiences gained from three decades of ocean cruising, covering 200,000 miles and three circumnavigations. The second part of the presentation will be a virtual circumnavigation on “Planning a voyage from Ireland to the Mediterranean, the Canaries, the Caribbean and back... and all the way around the world, with a detour to Antarctica”.

Jimmy has influenced the contemporary ocean cruising scene more than any other sailor. He is the acknowledged authority on ocean routing and his best-selling World Cruising Routes provides a wealth of information on all sailing routes of the world. As the doyen of the cruising rally concept, his highly successful transatlantic (ARC) and Round the World Rallies have introduced thousands of sailors to ocean cruising and given them the confidence to go blue water sailing and fulfil their dreams.

It is over ten years since Jimmy last gave a lecture in Northern Ireland and this is a unique opportunity to hear from one of the best known cruising yachtsmen around and to see a great collection of photographs showing places most of us can only dream of!
