Northern Ireland Squib Championships

Aidan O'Connell and Sian McCleave in 'Blue' won the Northern Ireland Squib Championships. The event was held in Carrickfergus Sailing Club over the weekend of 4/5 June.

The event was a closely fought battle with twists and turns at every stage.
 

Even at the end of the last race, no one was sure who had won due to a number of OCSs in the final race!

In the end a two points separated the first three boats, going to prove that the class is continuing to provide excellent, close racing.

Eyes next week will be focused on Howth for the British Nationals. Eight RNIYC boats will be taking part: Blue, Fagin, Toy for the Boys, Tai Pan, Born Wild, Halloween, East Coast Joy and Full Marks.

1. Blue: Aidan O'Connell/Sian McCleave, 8pts, RNIYC

2. Kin: John Driscoll/Michael Ennis, 9pts, RNIYC

3. Toy for the Boys: Peter Wallace/Michael Wright, 10pts, RNIYC
